Myth War 2 Online is a MMORPG that was developed by UNIGIUM and Published by TDT Games in May 2007. Starting out the game has a very basic character creation scene and it offers four starting classes, the Mage, the Centaur, the Human and the Borg. Off the bat this is quite confusing as the Centaur is actually an Elf with a beast and the fact that there is human as a class together with some mistakes at the description makes it a bit confusing. On the plus side players can pick between male and female gender for all classes.

Movement is performed by clicking to the area and the graphics of the game are nothing special to begin with. Combat is the most interesting aspect of the game as it features a turn based combat system. When playing it, the music and vibe reminded me some old school RPG games but the animations seem a bit clunky at times and it felt that combat lasted a bit longer than it should have.

A very positive thing is that the game features an apprentice and master system that allows new players to find a mentor and learn the game and gain more experience to level up. There is quite a bit of PvE content to explore as well as PvP events that can keep you occupied with the game.

Overall, Myth War 2 Online is a game that has a very specific style that you will either enjoy or hate from the first time you enter its world. Do not forget that the game has turned 10 years old, so the fact that it is still online and running is a good sign. The game population has decreased but I would suggest trying it out as it is free to play and if it is close to your liking you can find some entertainment playing it.

Growing up I had the luck to encounter the art of video games at a very young age in South Africa in 1990. I was captivated from the first moment I played video games from the educational math games at school to the purely entertaining video games at home. This love cultivated in studying Audio and Visual Arts, where I created the interactive audiovisual play in the form of a video game titled "The Life of Death". Over the last few years I have also been a videogame journalist as a hobby. Recently, I completed my Postgraduate studies in Games Art and Design at the University of Hertfordshire. My goal is to get into the video games industry and be a part of the creation process of video games.
