Time of Dragons is a free-to-play shooting MMO that lets you take control of big powerful dragons equipped with all sorts of guns in order to take down enemies. You get a variety of different dragons, randing in weight, power, speed etc, which you can fully customize to suite your playstyle.

After your first hours in Time of Dragons you can pretty much say what it’s all about. There’s some kind of ongoing meta that you can check in order to be powerful and succeed. This game is no friendly to “noobs” though. There’s no tutorial or control explaining, but truth is you won’t need it anyways. You get into intense matches in 5 different modes that suit any shooting title, so there’s classic, deathmatch modes and so on.

Certain dragons do well with specific builds. Wrong or bad building mechanic does make a kill per death worse for a player pending on the dragon. When you start getting use to the game, you fall into one of five classes in game. Aggressor, Support, Marksman, Tansverse or Ambusher are the main classes in game. The dragon used the most is what helps place a player into that specific class rating when in game.

Graphics-wise, Time of Dragons feels dated but is not unpleasing to the eye. The fact that its focused around dragons, which is a huge fantasy themed that is not frequently showcased in videogames pretty much nulls out the bad things.

One main downside of it is its clunky movement and difficult controls though. It’s not so bad to say that the game is unplayable but what a shooting title must have in order to succeed is fluid gameplay. Time of Dragons lacks that element but features innovative themes and mechanics instead, so we can forgive it.

Overall, Time of Dragons is a decent title worth spending time in but lacks the content to be deemed successful. Its low – close to none – playerbase might make it difficult for you to find a decent match to get into but it’s worth the try nonetheless.
