Armored Warfare is a free-to-play Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) Shooter game from Obsidian Entertainment and my.com. Players control their mechanical beasts and fight each other in a modern warfare setting.

There are five different types of vehicles you can choose; if you like heavy armored tanks with a lot of firepower, the MBT type is for you.  Light tanks are almost on a par with MBTs in terms of firepower but they lack in armor; however they are very mobile, a must-have in modern battlefields. Tank destroyers can be compared to snipers; they are highly mobile, have extreme accuracy and very powerful guns. Unfortunately they are very lightly armored, so they should avoid direct confrontation with heavier tanks. Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV) are your scouts; they are very fast and small something that enables them to spot enemies and infiltrate their lines without being spotted. Finally, Self-Propelled Guns (SPG) are your mobile artillery; they are extremely powerful and can alter the course of any battle. However, they are slow and very weak in close combat.

In Armored Warfare, players can fight against the computer A.I. in 5-man scenarios. These are missions with varying degrees of difficulty that require cooperation together with personal skills, excellent knowledge of your vehicle’s capabilities and good terrain use. There are primary and secondary objectives which once completed will reward players with experience and reputation points. There is a time limit and in some cases your team will have to face a “boss”, a computer-controlled enemy massively armored and with extreme firepower.

For the PVP part of Armored Warfare, two 15-player teams fight each other in large scale maps that depict different environments and weather conditions that have to be taken into consideration. Cooperation and tactical deployment are absolutely essential for achieving victory. The event ends when all members of one team are destroyed or when one team captures the other’s base.

Armored Warfare features excellent 3D graphics with great detail for the various tank models, stunning visuals and a very accurate simulation of each vehicle’s sounds and handling. It’s a game that will take you some time to fully master, but one that offers a memorable experience matched by only few titles out there!

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
