Bounty Bay Online Review

Bounty Bay Online is a free to play MMORPG and it is developed and published by Snail Games. The setting of the game is based on a nautical theme of pirates and explorers around the 14th and 16th century.

When creating your character there are five available classes to choose from: Royal Military Officer, Imperial Guardian, Caribbean Pirate, Treasure Hunter and Armed Businessman.

Environmentally, the game does a good job to feature historically accurate cities and harbors. However, the graphics of the game are sub optimal and even though its 2006 release time it did not look very good compared to other games released that year.

For players that enjoy pirates, there are many places to be discovered and a large variety of ships models that can be owned and controlled.

Not having many strong points to offer the game shut down in 2012 and was restored a few years later. The current title is Bounty Bay Online Atlantis but unfortunately it is plagued by the same issues it had before the shut down, with few improvements made since then.

Overall, Bounty Bay online Atlantis is a sub bar MMORPG that I would only recommend if you enjoy pirate themed games and exploring historically accurate locations.

Growing up I had the luck to encounter the art of video games at a very young age in South Africa in 1990. I was captivated from the first moment I played video games from the educational math games at school to the purely entertaining video games at home. This love cultivated in studying Audio and Visual Arts, where I created the interactive audiovisual play in the form of a video game titled "The Life of Death". Over the last few years I have also been a videogame journalist as a hobby. Recently, I completed my Postgraduate studies in Games Art and Design at the University of Hertfordshire. My goal is to get into the video games industry and be a part of the creation process of video games.
