Victory is Life is just around the corner and as it is tightly connected with Deep Space Nine, the developers of Star Trek Online decided that it is time for the long-anticipated Cardassians to become a playable race for Starfleet and the Klingon Factions!
The Cardassians fought in the great Dominion War but ended on the losing side. The consequences of this defeat are evident everywhere on Cardassia Prime which was left in a state of devastation during the last days if the war, from which has never recovered. The once strong Cardassian armed forces are nowadays reduced to a small defensive force with peacekeeping role. In spite of all these and with the re-emergence of the Dominion and the threat of the True Way terrorist group, many of these proud and cunning people decided that something must be done and have pledged their allegiance to the Klingon Empire or the Federation.
Cardassians are well known for their strong photographic memory and mind which come especially handy in battle as they can use their Inherent Species Space Trait and recall their combat training. For every 5 seconds that they are in combat they gain a stack of Recalled Tactics which earns them bonuses in Damage, Accuracy, and Defense over a short period of time. What is more, their Unique Ground Trait called Superior Mental Fortitude increases their mental resistances against Confuse, Stun and Placate and makes them immune to the Vulcan Nerve Pinch!
