Wildstar Review

Wildstar is a free to play MMORPG, by Carbine Studios. It is a galactic adventure of epic proportions, where you will have to choose sides and fight for Nexus control. At the same time, you will uncover the secrets of Eldan that disappeared from the planet a long time ago.

The two main factions are the Exiles, an alliance of refugees, outlaws and mercenaries who came to planet Nexus looking for a new beginning and the Dominion, a powerful interstellar empire founded by the Eldan, who are rulers of the galaxy for some thousands of years, and are now claiming Nexus as their rightful legacy. Players will choose from eight unique races, four from each side and select their hero class from six distinctive classes each one with its own abilities and combat mechanics. From the armed to the teeth Warriors, to the psionic illusion masters, Espers, you will sure find the one that suits you more.

A great innovative twist, adding a lot to the experience, is the fact that you can select one of the four available paths depending on your playstyle. Each one includes custom content designed specifically for different gameplay scenarios. Players who enjoy exploring the unknown will prefer the Explorer path, while those who like full-blown action will probably find more entertaining the Soldier path. In case you would like a more peaceful game experience, the Settler or the Scientist paths, focused on taming the lands, studying the world and unlocking its secrets, might be exactly what you are looking for.

On the customization side, Wildstar does a great job offering multiple options to build and decorate your personal house, invite your friends and put your unique touch to almost everything you own. Combat is also extremely fun and actually combines great movement and strategy elements to deliver a dynamic and highly challenging experience. You will have to move around and manually aim and dodge the attacks, meaning that without the proper combinations and attention, you are in for some serious trouble…

The PVE and PVP content is huge and Wildstar’s presentation is top-notch. There is an amazing quest line, special path missions and various challenges, events, expeditions, adventures, dungeons and 20 man raids! PVP is a blast, offering multiple modes, like open world, duels, 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 arenas, 10v10 battlegrounds and the massive 40v40 Warplots battles, available to all players once they hit level 50. Wildstar offers something for everyone and does it in a very interesting and quite innovative way.
