Unearned Bounty’s combat is 100% naval based. Bad news for any of you out there who were looking forward to a bit of swashbuckling – but fantastic news for someone out there who loves games that take place on the sea.

Equipped with only your ship, cannonballs, and wits, you must navigate the treacherous waters in order to defeat your enemies in tactical, top down, skill based combat. With a large variety of ships to choose from, there is sure to be something to fit everyone’s prefered playstyle – from swift sloops capable of running circles around more sluggish vessels, to great galleons equipped with row after row of devastating cannon shot.

One aspect of Arena shooters that everyone is surely familiar with is the idea of “corner camping” – or hiding until you have a more reasonable shot at taking the lead. Unearned Bounty handles this subset of player with swift efficiency. Not only is the point system designed in such a way to promote going after the strongest enemies, but the world actually fully wraps around! This means that no matter how far you run, or how hard you try to hide, there will always be something new sitting around over corner – whether this be a new danger, or an emerging opportunity, is only up for you to decide.

While Unearned Bounty is undoubtedly a good game – one thing it also is… is unfinished. Even for a game still in early access, Unearned Bounty has a real issue with its player base. Boasting at times only a small handful of current users, it can sometimes be all but impossible to find a game with real people to play against. That being said, the game still has a shot to make it. One thing that always seems to breath life into dead games is well, players! So if this kind of game sounds like your thing, don’t be afraid to check it out! It is free to play, after all, and if enough fans emerge, we could all see a truly great addition to the naval based ship combat genre!

Having been both an avid writer and video game lover for his entire life, the next logical step seemed to be, you guess it, writing about video games. And so here he is, doing that.
