Star Crusade is a sci-fi online card game developed and published by ZiMAD inc. If you played all CCGs out there then it’s time to offer some time to this one too since its scifi character and easy mechanics might be what you were looking for.

In Star Crusade you’ll find 6 different galaxy factions that server as game classes: The Shan’Ti, the cybernetically augmented Hierarchy, the psychically gifted Annunaki, the insidious Consortium, the brutal, adaptive Hajir-Gog and the fearless, battle-hardened Terrans, with their massive weapons of war as the game’s description indicated. Each one has different archetypes and mechanics, however you won’t find any actual differences between all of them.

Gameplay-wise, Star Crusade offers both single player and multiplayer battler. Its campaign is fairly easy but lack any depth of story even though the game has a robust lore. Its multiplayer mode, on the other hand, is even more easy with players claiming to be winning without even creating a decent deck. To be a true master though, you’ll have to ride on the game’s difficulty roller coaster since it might be easy to learn but truly hard to master.

What might make you a bit conservative about Star Crusade is its resemblance to StarCraft. Characters look the same and in times they even have the same names. It’s frequent in video games to be copy cats of famous franchises but this one might have taken it a bit too far. You can say that if Hearthstone is WoW’s card game then Star Crusade is StarCraft’s.

Overall, Star Crusade is a fair card game to try even if you don’t intend to spend much time on it. Its easy gameplay and beautiful hand drawn cards might make you want to invest more in card games in general or at least make an effort to finish its campaign and missions.

After having spent a few years in videogame journalism she came to believe that one day she will be the most famous videogame reviewer in existence.
