Requiem: Rise of the Reaver is a free-to-play MMORPG, developed and published by Gravity Interactive in 2008. It features a dark but vast world in which 4 different races are placed, each with 2 individual classes. Each class diverges into two seperate classes at some point bringing a total of 16 classes.

The game’s tutorial is a short but sweet one and you shouldn’t skip it because it contains vital information for both the game and your class. After that you start gaining levels and get points to buy skills, since your character starts skilless.

Regarding its combat, Requiem offers an easy going fight style that works based on combos, even though the mobs you’ll be facing in your early levels oppose no threat. You’ll be grinding for hours using xp boosters and completing blunt MMO quests until you reach the final stage of the game.

What’s interesting in PvE is the fact that there are world appearances for certain monsters callen Nightmare Monsters. They are tougher, have more health and have stronger abilities. They grant massive amounts of experience and drop better gear and loot so look out for these.

All other aspects of the game meaning graphics, soundtrack, UI etc. have nothing special to comment on. They may seem dated at first but overall you’ll find out that its gameplay is so consuming that you don’t even notice it. Its dark and gorish atmosphere is so breathtaking that you don’t have time to give bad reviews to its graphics or UI.

To sum up, Requiem: Rise of the Reaver is a decent MMORPG with a unique world that makes you feel like you’re actually in a nightmare. If you don’t mind the grinding and the dated graphics you’ll definitely love this one.
