Odin Quest is a free-to-play, browser based Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) from LeKool Games and YouJoy. It’s a fantastic 2D adventure in a world inspired by Nordic mythology full of monsters and dark corners to explore.

Before starting the game you will have to create your hero; it’s a simple process where you get to choose your gender, name and a class from the five available. Once you are done with that, you are introduced to the game’s world. Odin Quest implements an extended tutorial which serves as the first “chapter” of the story and will explain everything there is to know; what is more, you will a plethora of items and a lot of gold.

The game’s story is intriguing and it unfolds through the completion of a great number of quests; luckily (or not, it’s a matter of personal taste), Odin Quest uses an auto-pathing system that will make your life easier and an auto-killing system which makes monster disposal and experience gathering a walk in the park. The world is beautifully depicted with a lot of detail and the various character and monster models look really good.

Combat is traditional of the genre and requires correct and timely usage of your hero’s skills. It’s nothing really novel but the plethora of available skills allow for different approach to a given situation. In higher levels and especially in end-game instances it can be very challenging but of course only if you choose not to use the auto-killing system, otherwise it’s pretty boring and repetitive.

Odin Quest also implements a pet system that allows your hero to catch and train a monster to use as a follower that will greatly enhance your fighting abilities; in fact there is a dungeon you can enter once a day for a chance to get a unique pet of random rarity. Finally, you can join or create an Alliance where you may work with others and better enjoy what the game has to offer.

In conclusion, Odin Quest is a fan game that does everything expected from a MMORPG and in a highly entertaining way. If you choose to give it a try it will keep you company for many days and nights.

Great

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
