Lost Saga is a free to play 3D MMO fighting game, by Smilegate. Featuring classic beat ‘em up action, Lost Saga offers a vast roster of iconic playable characters that have been all stuck in a strange dimension, because of a faulty Time Gate. Therefore, players will get the chance to choose and play their favorite hero from an extended period with more than 60 unique options, ranging from King Arthur and Robin Hood to Captain Hook and Trinity.

Each hero has unique skills that can be performed and are not affected by defending blocks or guards. Every time one of these powerful skills is activated, it enters a cool down mode making them inaccessible for a short period. However, as timing is of the essence during combat, this actually means that the players will need to tactically time them wisely in order to maximize their efficiency. An effective strategy that you will also engage in as you play is hero switching. Lost Saga supports switching heroes on the fly even during combat, in order to combine skillsets and perform amazing attacks. A fresh approach of the battle system is the fact that players actually die, when they have no health points left and they lose all their gear during a fight. This means that it is possible for a hero to stand up and re-gain his gear after losing all his health. Heroes are also characterized by their gear and not their inherent class, meaning that you can create a custom hero and get access to new abilities and skills based on the gear you pick-up during fights.

Throughout the game, you will earn Pesos that should be used strategically so you can actually acquire the items you mostly need. You can get new styles, increase your stats or buy gear chests. Various strategies can eventually make you earn more in-game currency faster, like playing together with your friends, go fishing while you are not actually playing, engage in relic hunting or guild battles, sell unwanted items to the in-game market and participate in as many events as you can. WPs can also be bought from the in-game store using real money in order to unlock additional items and rewards.

Graphics and sound are not anything special, but the available game modes truly are. Ranging from cooperative PVE boss raids and creepy dungeons to PVP death matches, team death matches, free for all and team objective modes, Lost Saga actually offers something for everyone. The fast paced action, the easy to grasp controls as well the well-defined character progression system add up to the positive experience and offer additional re-playability value.
