Linkrealms Review

Link Realms is a sandbox fantasy MMORPG published by Mythyn Interactive. This game features retro Fallout or Diablo graphics but don’t be so quick to judge it. If you take your time in this huge world you’ll probably fall in love with it.

Your character starts out classless and skilless and, in addition, you gain no levels as you proceed but instead get rewarded with attributes to add to your character’s build. After a short yet unskippable tutorial you will be thrown into battle.

Link Realm’s combat is clunky but what could one expect from a retro game of its genre? You’ll have to strain yourself into engaging battle but overall everything is about getting used to it. Another downside is that you don’t have a quickslot bar, meaning you have to keep your spellbook open when you want to cast abilities in battle.

Players who aren’t into adventuring and killing and would rather be selling and crafting can also find their place in Linkrealms by specializing in profession skills like, blacksmithing, alchemy, and cooking. Like combat skills, profession skills are improved with use. Creating armor and weapons for blacksmiths, concocting potions for alchemists, and preparing meals for cooks.

PKing in Link Realms is available but sometimes becomes frustrating. On some servers you lose gear everytime you die and if you get PKed by a much stronger character, well then, GG.

To sum up, Link Realms is a fair MMORPG with clunky performance but solid implementations. If you are an MMORPG player that has tried everything but still got bored it could be a perfect match. I don’t believe though that many players in 2018 would invest time in playing Link Realms and that explains its low playerbase.
