Kritika Online is a MMORPG that was developed by ALLM and published by En Masse Entertainment in September 2017. It is a highly anime stylized game with fast paced combat and vibrant bright colours.

Starting out players get to choose between five starter classes, the Warrior, the Rogue, the Gunmage, the Reaper and the relatively new Psion. All classes apart from Psion at the moment feature further class advancements when players reach level 15. As an Eastern MMO the game has gender locked classes and the plot of the game is present but lacking after a certain point.

Customization is limited and more options are available at the in game store. Unfortunately, the costumes are not only for show but provide some stat boosts that might be considered as pay to win by some players.

Starting out the game is very responsive and there are some tips for combo chains depending on the class. Unfortunately there is no extensive tutorial present and you require to spend some time figuring everything out.

PvE includes dungeons that are separated in 4 different difficulties available to choose from and these are easy, normal, hard and insane. The game includes a fatigue system that limits the number of things players can do, which can be annoying if you want to play more. Enhancing gear requires quite a bit of resources to progress and it is completely random if it will succeed or fail. PvP is also present in the game and it has modes such as 1v1, 3v3, Capture the Flag and Droid Fights.

At maximum level the game is a grind to enhance gear and improve your combat rating in order to become stronger. This end game is the norm for many Eastern MMO’s requiring constant and it will not appease all players, but for those who enjoy these type it will be right down your alley. Kritika Online has real fun and flashy combat and on insane difficulty you need to think before you act. Since the game is Free to play I would recommend you give it a try.

Growing up I had the luck to encounter the art of video games at a very young age in South Africa in 1990. I was captivated from the first moment I played video games from the educational math games at school to the purely entertaining video games at home. This love cultivated in studying Audio and Visual Arts, where I created the interactive audiovisual play in the form of a video game titled "The Life of Death". Over the last few years I have also been a videogame journalist as a hobby. Recently, I completed my Postgraduate studies in Games Art and Design at the University of Hertfordshire. My goal is to get into the video games industry and be a part of the creation process of video games.
