Knight Online Review

Knight Online is a free-to-play MMORPG, developed by Mgame and published by NTTGame in 2004. Basically the game is a good example of an oldschool video game maintaining its playerbase throughout the years due to the dedication of its community.

In Knight Online you play either as an El Morad (Human) or a Karus (Orc) and your choice of faction is terminal for all your potential characters. There are 4 classes to choose from (same for both factions) and 2 more faction-locked classes called Portu for El Morad and Kurian for Karus. There are very limited character customization options,so if having a generic character is a dealbreaker for you then you shouldn’t even try it out.

Leveling up is slow paced and kind of grindy in Knight Online. Through Levels 1-60, players gain three stat points to distribute into one of five stats (STR, HP, DEX, MP, and INT) and two skill points. From Levels 61-83, players begin gaining five stat points per level instead of three and this is pretty much how you ascend in this MMORPG.

PvP in Knight Online is its main feature. Apart from basic duels (which are available in almost every part of its universe) and classic PvP arenas there is its big faction event called “Lunar Gate”. In Lunar Gate players fight in Human vs Orc battles where they win points for each kill and lose for each death. The winner get rewarded with generous currency points and various rewards.

The best but also the worst thing about this game is its community. Even though it manages to keep a steady playerbase, Knight Online is packed with hackers, cheaters and flamers who just keep on ruining your day. Even the GM’s provide hacked characters and gear to the players and there are even character wipes without notice. Worst thing is, that among all this chaos customer support is almost never helpful.

To sum up, Knight Online is a decent MMORPG given they years it counts but if you are an honest player then you should stay away from it. Noone encourages you to become a cheater but being a free-to-play grinder is not gonna help you on this one. Apart from that its PvP modes are worth giving a try and overall your experience will range depending what you are looking for in it.
