Drakensang Online is a browser based, Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), developed and published by Bigpoint. Dracania, the game’s universe, is infested with terrible monsters and mighty dragons. You, the hero, will take up the task of restoring order in the land to become a legend.
The game is a typical representative of the genre. There is a character selection process (with limited available options) and four classes to choose from. Slaying monsters will grant you experience along with gold and items that can be used to upgrade your hero. You can adventure alone or can invite friends via Facebook to have fun together. There is also an extended Player Versus Player (PVP) system, where players fight each other in different arenas, each one with its unique scenario. One of the strong features of the game is its story. It is a fantasy tale that will take you to many different locations, from towns and castles to mysterious dungeons and hellish pits. There are thousands of quests to complete, a great number of monsters to kill and a plethora of characters to interact with. Finally, the game’s visuals are amazing. You will forget that this is browser-based, the textures, the animation, the 3D models, everything looks great. The soundtrack consists of certain epic themes and it adds to the whole experience.
There are, of course, some minor problems like the fact that in order to get your hands on the best gear you need to pay real money, but all in all they don’t worsen the whole experience. Drakensang Online is a game that every RPG lover should try, at least once. It will not disappoint!
