Dragon`s Prophet Review

Dragon’s Prophet is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by the creators of Runes of Magic, Runewaker Entertainment and is published by Infernum Games. Even though that by first sight it seems like a classic MMORPG, it features a unique mechanic – The taming and training of a huge variety of dragons.

Its character creation is as simple as it can be, with four classes to choose from. Customizing your character is not such a tricky task with not as many sliders and hair/ cosmetics options as one would like.

It’s main mechanic, the dragon taming seems to be the main feature of Dragon’s Prophet. You can tame your first dragon in your very early levels and fight your way through to your next ones. Taming a dragon is a pretty easy task, featuring a mini game where you are asked to keep a “dragon’s head” inside a circle which seems like a breath of fresh air after all the fighting and looting

Its combat system on the other hand doesn’t have that much to offer. If you are a World of Warcraft enthusiast then you will find its mildly stationary fighting system appealing, otherwise you might get bored easily. Dragon’s Prophet’s combats are based on an auto-target and combo system which would have been way cooler if the character had the ability to move while attacking.

After some hours of playing the game you will notice that its looting system is “showering” you with epic items, clearly not using its gear system as a founding stone to its gameplay.

What one may find as a downside to Dragon’s Prophet is the lack of daily players in its servers. Its community is small but helpful and some may think of this as a blessing while others might call a curse.

Dragon’s prophet is free-to-play but doesn’t offer much pay-to-win options. Even though you can buy some dragons from the game’s store, their stats are not too high so that it can’t be called a moneygrabber.

As a final verdict, Dragon’s Prophet is an interesting addition to the MMORPG genre even though all of its features are not as well worked on as they could be. If you don’t consider yourself an elitist of the genre and like to try new and fun things then you should definitely try it.
