Bang! Howdy Review

Bang! Howdy is a free to play 3D MMO Strategy game, by Grey Havens. Evolving in a Wild West setting with steampunk references, players will have the opportunity to enjoy a nice, innovative mix of real time strategy and turn-based combat. The environment’s graphics aren’t something special, however the game does a pretty serious job in character details and music creating a nice atmosphere that will make your cowboy-self scream; Yee-haw!

The gameplay is set-up in a grid terrain and each player’s units can move a certain distance from their starting point or attack within a specific range upon their turn, approximately every five seconds, thus giving the game a nice fast pace. You will get various different game modes such as; Gold Rush, in which players try to gather gold and get it back before they get shot, Cattle Rustlin’ where you claim cattle and protect your cows from stealing, Claim Jumpin’ in which you go after nuggets, trying to get as much as you can to your home base and Land Grab, where your goal is to gain the control of the most homesteads.

The cards you use during the play, give an additional tactical flavor. You start with three of them but during gameplay you will have the chance to pick up new ones or earn special bonuses that have specific effects and can turn the balance instantly within the battlefield. Choose wisely your cards and decide when is the best time to deploy them. Select your units carefully before entering into combat taking into account that each one bares unique skills and abilities. As you level up and gain experience, you will eventually start qualifying for earning special badges, showcasing your accomplishments. There are more than 100 different badges available so you will need some decent aim and agility to collect them all. Bang-Bang! Ride ‘em Cowboy!
